{Beef and Broccoli}

Beef and Broccoli
Serves 6

Total time: 8 hours
1 pound beef, sliced into strips
1 cup plus 3 tablespoons beef broth, divided
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame seed oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 pounds frozen broccoli, thawed
Cooked rice
- Place beef in the bottom of a crock-pot.
- Mix 1 cup beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, oil, and garlic together and pour over beef.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or until beef is cooked.
- Add broccoli about 1 hours before ready to serve.
- About 15 minutes before service, drain all liquid from the crock-pot and place in a saucepan on the stove.
- Heat liquid until steaming.
- In another bowl, mix cornstarch and 3 tablespoons broth until combined.
- Add cornstarch mixture to hot liquid.
- Cook liquid until thickened, and then add back to crock-pot.
- Serve immediately over rice.
